Some of the more common questions that Dr. Pohlman’s patients ask him about are what they can do to have a healthy prostate and about the lifestyle improvements that they can make. His patients want to know how they should be eating and if there are any supplements that they should be taking.
Today, we are excited to have Dr. Steven Kaplan joining us on the podcast! In this episode, Dr. Kaplan will get us up to speed with what we can do to help implement a more prostate-healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Steven Kaplan is Director of the Men’s Wellness Program at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is an internationally renowned authority, and one of the primary thought leaders in the study of benign prostate disease, the association of metabolic factors with voiding dysfunction, and symptoms related to benign prostate enlargement and bladder function.
He has over 1,000 publications, including 600 peer-reviewed articles and 90 book chapters. His landmark study, published in JAMA in 2006, changed the way medications get used in the treatment of men with symptoms related to both benign prostate enlargement and bladder dysfunction. He has made over 340 presentations in more than 35 countries. He is the co-author of five books and is on the Editorial Board of numerous journals, including Urology, Journal of Urology, and Urology Times.
Dr. Pohlman has enjoyed following Dr. Kaplan’s literature and would like to give him credit. His recent article in the Urology Times, DeMISTifying less-invasive solutions for BPH, served as inspiration for Episode 45, here on the Prostate Health Podcast, where we reviewed various minimally invasive options for BPH.
Be sure to tune in today! This is a show you won’t want to miss!
